Jehovah’s Witness for the Prosecution: Chris Ford (WIP)
Chris Ford, known for his sharp wit and infectious charm, brings his work in progress stand-up comedy show to the stage with humour and honesty. Blending stories of growing up as a strict Jehovah’s Witness with life as an A&E nurse, he explores identity, belief and resilience. Through sharp storytelling and self-deprecating humour, he reflects on teenage years shaped by faith, shame and desire in a world where questioning was forbidden. From queer awakenings to the absurdities of NHS life, this is raw, heartfelt, laugh-out-loud comedy with a story that deserves to be heard.
Banbury will host its very first Stand-Up Comedy Festival, starting November 14th!
An entire day filled with Stand Up Comedy shows, kids shows & even a Spanish-speaking show!
Taking place in five distinctive performance venues in the town—The Apothecary Tap, Lock 29, The Mill Arts Centre, Freemasons Hall & The Village Butty (a canal boat!)—the festival will feature a curated lineup of comedians, including rising talents & brilliant comics from the UK comedy circuit. If you’re a dedicated comedy aficionado or just looking for a fun day out, this one-day event offers something to everyone.
We’re proud to support our independent arts community by making live shows accessible to everyone and bringing people together to discover new talent and great performances.
All shows are free to attend, with seats available to reserve in advance on a Pay What You Want basis. Spaces are limited, and once a show reaches capacity, we can’t admit any more guests — so we encourage you to book ahead where possible.
Enjoyed the show? Donations are warmly welcomed and help us continue supporting artists and keeping live performance accessible to all.
